How long, roughly, does it take for the oil to warm up in a VTR?

you mean the temperature on the gauge to go up on the dial mate? takes 10 to 15mins.

No, as that's for the water... A VTR doesn't have an Oil Temp Guage.

If your water is well up to temp your good to go. The oil will not be far off. I have never bothered with a oil temp but rather oil pressure as when you see that drop you know something wrong and it can give you time to cut the engine before it kills it self.

on a sllllloow warm up the temp is pretty much the same given a few degrees.
on a fast warm up (50-60mph) the gap between the two is a bit higher. so once the water temp is at standard, give yourself about 5 more mins for the oil to reach correct temp
