has anyone tryed fitting a rs turbo engine into a saxo. because ive seen a lot of people asking about turbo conversions and you can get a rs engine for peanuts. just seems like the easy thing to do. and cheaper then converting a saxo engine for turbo.

similar to the discussion a while back.
alot of people would put redtops in their Saxos if they were easy enough to fit....

The Saxo engine is FAR better than the outdated Ford piece of shit. The money spent on putting that shitheap in would be more sensibly spent on turboing your existing Saxo engine.

No chance that a Saxo with a RS CVH turbo would pass an emissions test!

It would be cheaper just to turbo a VTR or VTS engine. But I would avoid the CVH I managed to destroy two due to all the oil falling out and they never made as much power as even the 8V MA managed.

Yeah, dont waste your cash mate. Like everyone else has said, just buy a bigger car.
I looked at turbos until I saw how much they cost :bored:
Just mod it a lil until you can buy something else ;D

If your engine number does not match up to the chassis number they cant say what emissions should be so its classed as a kit car and you are therefore aloud 3% rather than 0.3% thats how i passed even though peugeot and citroen are the same the numbers are different hope this helps.
btw i wouldnt put an rs turbo lump in mine renault 5 turbo ftw

Renault 5 turbo engines are less reliable than an RS Turbo CVH i would imagine.

the r5 isnt as unreilable as the stigma tbh!
and are alot easyer to fix for a more basic mechanical level of skill

They make a ZVH for the extra capacity, low mileage zetec bottom with CVH head. And newer engines!

the cvh and renault 5 engines arnt un reliable,
its just that 15-20 years of abuse and bodged tuning has fucked alot of them up.
£ for £ tho the tuning is relatively cheap on R5's and rs turbos

Where have you been hiding?? ZVH lumps are soo old skool now...
in the RS tuning circles its all about the Zetec lumps with the 16v head,
considering a Standard 16v Zetec head can follow as much as a Heavily Modified CVH head.. :)
Also No problems of the CVH head eating the Cam
