What have you currently got...?
Assume you have an induction kit, cat back system, manifold...?

as above exhaust system, induction kit, manifold should be the first things you do....

Get yourself a 4-2-1 and cat back system sorted first, then an induction kit..

Once you have this you will release a few more ponies but more importantly you now have a base for future tuning, you can now get a higher lift camshaft then finally a remap..

Headwork is also an option when your getting the higher lift camshaft put in, this will make your exhaust ports bigger etc which will cause much better gas flow..

Then you can look at a lighter flywheel which will allow the engine to rev out quicker which obviously improves performance, then finally a closer ratio gearbox, like a VTS box or 106 Rallye S1 box..

But as i said at the beginning, get the breathing mods sorted first then go from there..:y:

Strip out the car?

bang on !

will see instant results for the least possible expenditure.

I dont understand it when people say this, because if you do it properly with buckets, harnesses, proper steering wheel etc it costs quite alot, you would be much better off camming your car..

totally agree.
I did a "cheap" strip
and it still cost £500+

Exactly, mine cost abit more than that and i still haven't got a cage! lol

so how am i spending money by stripping all interior, spare wheel, linings etc ?

also, the performance gains made by stuff mentioned before like induction, exhaust etc is still relatively small, in my experience i havent 'felt' the difference.
whereas, you can feel the difference in cornering and braking of weight saving.

most people when stripping opt for lightweight bucket seats etc,
looks rather odd a stripped car on standard seats.

It does... as I found out last night!

but then when you think this. Are you more worried about performance or styling ?

some people strip out the car then put a show cage in. that i dont get.

Imo, you dont strip a car out and not get buckets etc..

true, but also depends on finances.

Yeah exactly, but imo if your gona do something, do it properly..

If you cant afford to do it properly, dont bother..
