I fitted a decat and a 4-2-1 manifold to my 51 reg vts and my management light came on yesturday and my brother has a fault finder and it said it was to do with the cat so he took the fault off, so basically will it always come on after so many miles?? is there any thing i can do :y:

The missfire will bring the engine managment light on, it will most likely flash too. The missfire will be logged as a DTC (error / fault) on the ECU and may keep the light on, may not.

However, the light will always keep coming on if you have no cat, as the lambda sensor located after the cat will pick up that the emissions are not correct. The way to solve this is to trick the sensor into not seeing any emissions at all, and you can do this by disconnecting the sensor from the exhaust system, and covering it with a specific steel, screw on cover, which can be purchased from GMC's web site.
