search all the tuning companies websites, even magnex direct.

ebay isnt allways the cheapest place.

powerboost vavle worked a charm on my brothers astra, dont no how they look chav'ish' becouse you can hardly see them, not all off them have guages. i would pay that for it, but worked well on my vtr when fitted it for like 5 mins lol.

In what way did it "work well"??

as said its just an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, if set up wrongly does more damage to the engine.

its just increasing the pressure of the fuel, and is not needed.

its not a boost valve its just a snazzy name, you can get higher FPRs from the PSA range for cheaper

well dont no why then becouse it worked well on my brothers astra and my saxo mk1. throttle response got better when slamming foot down, different opinions i guess, same with super chips, now got one on my saxo and i will sweat by it.

problem I have with PBVs is that for most people they just ramp up the fuel pressure and expect all to be well. Blindly adding more fuel does not improve performance. Look up bore wash for worst case scenarios

Super Chips .. you end up paying for a generic chip with a slightly more performance map over normal - problem is its not for your engine specifically so not as good as a Remap of the standard ECU. Ideal though for the plug and play generation but doesn't equate to best performance

but if you ever had a proper remap you would be commenting on how you wasted £400 at pooperchips;) ;)

i prob will lol, after cams i will get a remap and tell ya ;) but im very happy with my super chip now.

Ryan
27th December 2007, 18:50
its given you performance you will be happy, but you still paid alot to get a universal mod really.

vtrlogan
27th December 2007, 18:54
not really a uni mod when i brought it for my make model and year, u dont no how much o paid for it aswel ;)

Ryan

it is a universal mod as they dont do it with your car on the rollers and adjust the mapping accordingly.

they use an off the shelf map ;)

vtrlogan
27th December 2007, 19:06
thort a uni mod fitted all cars. mine is just for a saxo mk 1 ;)

Ryan

still not speciific for the engine you have, its not mapped for your set up. it has a universal map unless they had your car as i said on rollers and adjusted the fueling and cam timing etc.............

vtrlogan
27th December 2007, 19:10
surly a super chip is doing that but in the ecu ;) what it says on the box bascally lol. and surly on a remap they do it through the ECU?

Ryan
27th December 2007, 19:12
a remap to the ecu is adjusting the ecu settings on a set of rollers to use set load points through the rev range, the mapper will adjust fueling etc.. to overcome flatspots.

a superchip does not do this as its not done on a set of rollers and so is not MAPPED on your cars set up. you cant create a map without the car being there and have it set so you get the most out of the engine.

vtrlogan
27th December 2007, 19:18
lol k then. im going with my super chip till ive had my cams done ;) i will say it made it feel 'faster!' And mine and my mates view on saying its a uni mod is not true, because 'we' think a uni mod is UNI so it fits all. and my chip doesnt fit a 106 gti (mates) but fits mine. last post on this one ;)

Ryan
27th December 2007, 19:21
its universal to any saxo with that engine.

its not a map thats set for your car only.

williamsvts
28th December 2007, 13:06
obviously your chip wont work on his car, how can you run the 16v on an 8v map? all a superchip does is advance ignition timing and raise rpm limit (on single plugs). it IS universal as your chip has the same map on it as every other vtr superchip thats sold.
you should try listening to people that know what there going on about.

vtrlogan
28th December 2007, 14:02
how was i not listening? lmao. im going with what it says on the box, mabey you should read the whole thing befor commeting? if its a uni mod ok, fine. im happy with it. all i no my chip works very well with my car, and u say about it not fitting a 16v, but it also doesnt fit a mark 2 vtr due to the number off plugs. cant be botherd to waste any more time on people saying what other people already have.

mikevtr
28th December 2007, 17:21
i heard that superchips only advance the timing by a degree and most cars with electric starters and electric power steering take it off again is this true????????????

williamsvts
28th December 2007, 17:24
what do you mean? they retard the ignition because of the PAS and starter?
