Couple questions on 'Raceland'.
Has anyone seen power gains from a raceland?
As people say, enclosed for performance, open for sound, I still want a nice noticable sound but performance gains aswell. Is the raceland loud enough to turn heads without looking like a tit?
Seen a couple threads about raceland being hard to fit? Is this because they've got the wrong one for their model, or are they all hard to fit?
Also which do you think will be best for me? 52 plate VTR, Looking to spend about £60-£100.
Cheers.
Before anyone starts crying about searching etc, i've searched, and read faqs. Replied to a sticky instead of making this post, but the thread got "closed" So now i'm making a thread about it.
Also i would like to ask why has

they give similar power gains to bmc etc but the price is alot cheaper, ive not herd one in real life but i imagine they make a induction noise that sounds sporty rather than a roar from open filters, there worth buying and i shall be getting one when i get a vts, cnt see it being that hard to fit although a decent guide with pics would be helpfull.
im speaking about the kit with green filter, not std filter..
and fastcar ages ago did a test on a vts with diff kits and green came out ontop for performance..

make sure you get green filter, they are a bit annoying to fit, but its fairly easy. mine sounds great tbh, not too loud, just nice above 3k revs and when you boot it.

I will record the sound of mine if you want, Paul. Really does give a nice roar under harder acceleration but you can hardly hear it whilst just driving around normally.
Its a bitch to fit because some parts are ill fitting and there is no real way of mounting the scoop unless you custom make some brackets.
Also i'd nip to b&q if i were you and buy a couple of their large jubilee clips because from what i remember the raceland doesn't have enough included. (I would say halfords but the max size they did at my halfords was too small).

I have not long had my vts and this was the first mod i brought! And one of the best so far. great value for money, with a great sound.
As for fitting, the only prob i has (Mk2 vts) was the powersteering resevoir was originally located where the induction scoop goes (see pic)

I just re-located the resevoir as you can see and thats job done!
Hope that helps!:y:
