Just looking into how much a new engine is going to cost as my car has racked up 134,300k now and i've got some headgasket failure - its overheating and loosing coolant. I was thinking, if i'm changing the engine i might aswell do all 3 engine mounts too. Does this look to be correct (from the pic) for a lower engine mount (gearbox one) from looking under the motor it looks totally different but i dont know ?!

What else would be recommended to change obviously cambelt, clutch and oil filter...

cheers guys :y:

yes thats it. you need to remove your old 1 from the metal bracket and push that in.

wicked thanks guys. I know the water pump works fine on my engine, worth swapping it over? the new engine only has 25k on it

Might not be necessary with just 25k on the clock, but for piece of mind and saving you from doing it again they're only £30.

If you're sure it is in good condition the next suitable time to change it would be when you get your cambelt changed around 60k

did you say you were going to change the mounts i would get a powerflex lower engine mount and a group N mount for the top of the gearbox and maybe a group N engine mount because when you stiffen the others up the bolt tends to snap in this one i reccomend the lower mount if you can stand the little extra vibration its around £30 delivered quite easy to fit too
