Black top mk1 VTR - Simple mods really.
One of those raceland 4-2-1 manifolds
raceland or raceland + green (Whats the power difference in these if any?)
supersprint exhaust.
What sort of power am i looking at over standard? Anybody had there VTR rolling roaded with these mods or similar mods?
Also gasflowed head...just seen on LADmotorsport website they claim to release 30bhp, but i've heard their figures are generaly bullshit.
Ported throttle bodie likely to make a difference?
Don't care about sound etc tbh i'm just interested in the power

Those power figures you gave include the gasflowed head and throttle bodie?
How much for cams and remap? I can get my car mapped for free lol.
Might be better off waiting for a VTS engine to come up cheap i'm thinkin...how hard is it to drop in?

Just found this on the seatcupra forums whilst searching through google...
''The figures below are taken from REVS magazine on a Saxo VTR.
Brand 'Cat' Removed Power Gain+/Loss- Torque Gain+/Loss-
Powerflow NO +4.4bhp +1.4 ft/lb
Ashley YES +4.4bhp +1.2 ft/lb
Magnex NO +3.2bhp -1.4 ft/lb
Scorpion YES +3.2bhp -0.4 ft/lb
Janspeed NO +2.9bhp -0.5 ft/lb
Devil YES +2.9bhp -0.5 ft/lb
Milltec NO +2.7bhp +1.9 ft/lb
Mongoose NO -1.4bhp +0.3 ft/lb
Looking at getting a used ashley catback system tommorow - does £100 seem reasonable?

If you are going to go to a tuner about these cars talk to a good one such as GMC, Longman or the likes. There are a few that are high profile but best to be avoided.
As people have said. For cheap and real power a cam is the way to go.

I'm starting to notice it takes alot of money to get a small amount of power out of the 8v engine..16v engine come summer time i'm thinking. Then i'l stick some bike carbs or bodies on it.
I may gasflow the head though to see what power it makes..i've got nothing to lose as i'll be doing it myself lol..;)

That's the reality of tuning a Saxo VTR I'm afraid.
Watching my mate Jimbo on here who spent loads on performance parts for his VTR makes me wish I had the money ready to spend on mine now but since buying and insuring I'm short on funds.
At least with my Pipercross on it sounds nice.
