This is the story of how it all began,
Right i passed my test in feb 05, my mom gave me her car to have as i was at college and couldn't afford to buy my own this is what i got-
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj232/girlracer1597/girlracer1597_13206632.jpg

I named him mattie, and it got cleaned, polished vacumed etc twice a week lol well i was a student had nothing else better to do!

Then the time came to grow up after i finished the course and get a job. Which i did, i ended up working in the composite department of prodrive a little way from where i lived, the little 800cc engine in the matiz just couldnt cut it! So my dad went out and started to look for a new car for me, this is what he came up with

My baby Poppy!
Within a week of having her i'd got the alloys, fuel cap, and induction kit on!

thanks everyone for the comments so far i only started this tonight. Right then so i've paid some attention to the outside of the car it time for inside, i started with those silly yellow blobs ontop of the door pins, the passenger side came off no problem but the drivers side was a different story. It became a little competition between my work mates who could get it off! then i tackled that stupid yellow gear knob and replaced it with this
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj232/girlracer1597/touring.jpg
and one of these for a more finished look

Right so the last thing i was sorting was the interior of the car but i got a little distracted by this
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj232/girlracer1597/Poppy/rangy.jpg
this one isnt ours (couldnt find any pic's for some strange reason) but its the same colour.
Project poppy was over for now while i ponced around in my new toy lol
So i loved my range rover (well my half anyway) and when i found out that some little bastards had keyed it from front to back i was a little upset to say the least. So with over 500 quids worth of damage it was put to rest and using the insurance money to fix the paint work. My attention was turned back to my 1st love the saxo, poor thing had been taken off the road and ignored for well over 5 months and bless her cotton socks she flew through her mot (pretty good for a saxo)
Right my interior
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj232/girlracer1597/Poppy/richbrook2.jpg
so what to do with the rest of the interior? My answer was bin it!! and this is what i replaced it with
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj232/girlracer1597/Poppy/interiorfront.jpg

Right well poppy went into have its MOT today and i kind of knew what was coming. The cv boot had gone again, now its not that much of a drama but it is if you cant get the wheels off!!!! The garage refused to help me so i had to go elsewhere so i went to ltc on the stourbridge road got all 4 of my lock nuts off without to much damage to my wheels then back to the testing centre should get it back my noon tomorrow.

Got the toolbox from the autosport show, all together cost about £450 you get good deals for cash on the last day ;) as for the acident i dont know what going to happen now, we were going to try and keep it out of the insurance but i dont think i've got a choice now. well the wheels were kind of in the pipeline but now with this acident i might have to rethink them.

Ah right. Thanks.

As for the crash... Tbh you'll lose more in a way for such a cheap fix... It's hardly alot... I know it sounds odd... But you will have a claim on your name then plus you will wait months and months for insurance money to come through.... With the wheels, keep what you have then till you can get the others imo.

I'd just nip rpund a few bodyshops and ask for a quick quote on how much it would be to fix the car. Then ask the other party if they will give you the cash. They may wish to keep the insurance out of it, and so may agree. If not, its coming off their insurance anyway by the sounds of it so it will not affect you. It may take a while for their insurance to pay out though as they tend to drag these things out

girlracer1597

Little update, everything isnt going to well the other party has told their insurance company a very different story to what happened! so its going to take a little longer to sort things out, my legal cover is kicking in and taking over and getting the police involved so i can get the cctv as the car park in covered in camera's so im not to worried its just going to take longer than it should, in the mean time i have a nearly new corsa sxi, which im not to keen on tbh, but cant complain it a car!

16th September 2008, 13:38
I've just had my insurance company contact me, the other party has changed their story and still not admitting that it was there fault they have suddenly found two wittnesses to support thier side of the story that it was our fault. The CCTV doesnt pick up the accident as it was in a blind spot. My legal company are still saying that the damage to my car doesnt fit with his story and have had to employ an independant engineer to also look at my car as the insurance companies cant agree. I am so angry and upset.

Directly on the nose of car (sorry wierd way of discribing it) just under the headlight near the grill not much damage tbh. So how they can say i hit him i've got no idea the damage to mine and his doent match that story.

I am so pissed off with the way everything is being handled by my insurance company they have not got a clue about anything :wall::wall::wall::wall:
thank god that i have legal cover on my policy at least they know a little bit lol to who ever reads this please please please pay the extra for the legal cover on your insurance this accident was only a silly car park crash and its totaly blown up they are the only people interested in fighting my corner.
Rant over :wall::wall::wall:
While my poor baby has been sat in some accident repair place for well over a month now i've been thinking about future plans for her, so far i've come up with
1. smoothing the bump strips and spraying them gloss black
2. refubing my alloys and spray them black also
3. finally getting my mirror caps and spoiler sprayed and fitted
4. colour code some dash parts
5. take care of some dent/scratchs general tidy up of the paint work
6. new headunit (in getting for my b'day) re fit sub
7. as im refitting sub, take out interior and clean all carpets and seats
8. also a major service inc cambelt
9. source a set of matching seatbelts

Has anyone got any other idea or suggestions? input and opinions are greatly recieved.

Had a call from my insurance company today and finally a bit of good news all the engineers agree that the damage is repairable (i no its sounds silly but there was talk of it been writen off) the other partys witnesses against us have either not replied to my legal company or didnt see anything. So im happy with that hopefully the damage to my car now will show the true nature of the acident and i will get her back soon!

Im getting her back very soon! As the party havent admited liabilty thy cant fix it just yet so to make it "road legal" i was going to have to pay £171.25! i Wasnt going to pay that just for an indicator and headlight So im getting it back and im going to do the work myself! Only for it to go back at a later date and be fixed properly.
Insurance claims are hard work!

Still getting some shit to do with this hopefully should be sorted by the end of the day, little update, the company who is repairing my car has it all striped down ready to repair and they found a hole in my radiator but they cant put it down to the accident because its the oposite side to the damage :( got to pay £100 for a new one is this a good price to pay? I believe they are using genuine citroen parts.

Right well I'm going through a bit of a rough patch so i thought i would take my mind off things by spending time on my car, first thing i gave her a much needed bath!
I think she looks amazing for a 10 year old car and after a few more job's doing on the body work I'm hoping to get the paint work like new.

Paintwork looks mint - deffinately the best colour in my unbiased opinion ;)

If you stick the mirror caps and spoiler on with Tigerseal and then use some take to strap them down tightly in place, the adheisive should go off before tommorrow morning.

Its not that low lol, I no its down 60mm which in some peoples eyes is a bit extreme, but no nothing catches at all even 5 up over speed bumps!!!
The comments about the paint work are really nice thank you, I spent about 5 hours cleaning her that day.
Im also choosing to ignore the chav comment lol I don't think its that bad.

Poppy in the next few weeks is coming off the road for a while, I'm looking for a megane coupe to replace her as my daily drive.
Plans
vt rear beam
raise the car to 35/40mm
new suspension
bigger brakes
VTS engine (prob the last thing i do)
sort out any rust
new bonnet and boot (my are scratched and dented badly)
general tidy up of all paint work, maybe a respray in same colour.

All this is going to time especially for a poor student but at least I'll not be paying a garage for labour as I'm going to do all the work myself.

I'm not going for a particular look of car but if you guys have any suggestions/idea's then please tell me :y:

I'm not going to do much with her just a few little bits and bobs and maybe a panel filter.
I'll put some better pics up when I get her, was thinking of calling her Meggy.
