Im nt an expert on this mate bt i wud think that there wud b little point as your ecu had been designed to run the spec of your engine to the best of its ability, i.e. sir fuel ratios etc... so if you were to put a new ecu in then it would have to be remapped to suit and this would be an awful lot of work and money for nothing basically!!

Theres alot of work happening to it at the minute. cam etc. Im not getting remap at the minute and was thinking that the rallye ecu would allow more revs and maybe a better map than a vt???

No mate, if your adding cams, head work etc, get yourself a stand alone system and have it mapped to suit and get the best out of your setup.

Come to think of it, we supply, fit and map ECU's :)

ill def be staying 8 valve for awhile. maybe should have thought of the 16v before i started spending cash. I was thinking maybe of bodies and standalone. just need some advice on what to do with the ecu at the minute. would like a remap but theres not many places in n.ireland to do it. just dont want to spend the £400 ish on the remapp if im getting a standalone furthur down the line.
