I mean peugeot boutique won't let you order them until they have them in stock, I've waited from mid december'ish, and ended up buying second hand as couldnt wait any longer !!
Best bet is to buy them from Kamracing if you dont want tp keep waiting for them!!

Why are the mk2 mounts almost twice the price of the mk1 mounts? I wasn't aware there was a big difference between the car models? *Awaits enlightenment* ;)
KamRacing
21st January 2008, 09:22
to be honest I haven't asked peugeot sport why..
Toad
21st January 2008, 11:13
Do they seem physically different?
Ryan
21st January 2008, 11:22
phase 2 mount for the ecu feels alot more complicated and larger.
KamRacing
21st January 2008, 11:37
yes the top engine mount seems to be a completely different design on the Mk2. You also get some re-enforcing plates that can be welded onto the car
Toad
21st January 2008, 11:41
Hmm, interesting. I guess I can't skimp on these then, hehe. Cheers guys.
Ryan
21st January 2008, 11:46
no you cant you noob :P
also the kit people class as groupA isnt really, as a full groupA kit needs welding to the shell and rose joints.

I thought is was a valid question, as there doesn't apear to be any siginificant differences between the phases, so why would the mounts be twice the price... Oh well, I know now! :)

yes theres a number of variants. Theres the group N kit, the semi rigid kit, then the Group A solid kit with the rose jointed arm for additional support

To add another stupid question to the rest..
http://www.kam-racing.co.uk/product_info.php/cPath/167_173/products_id/959
Im guessing thats just a single engine mount not the full set? What other ones
are required if your thinking of changing the lot. I heard something about a
gearbox mount too?
Think group Ns would be a bit too harsh for me at the moment. Yes Im not hardcore
enough blahhhhh fart.

of course it will be cheaper as you are buying direct.
but until you have ever ordered from them you wont realise that the tax and postage do amount to alot!! and the ball ache of trying to order in franch and make sure you get the right part. plus if its damaged/wrong ur dealing with a company in a different country.
you pay the extra for service - speed of deilvery. and at the end of the day all supplyers have to have a mark up, your tins of beans do in a supermarket

I have group A mounts, and i recommend anyone to them.
I paid £125 delivered from france (Cheers Wolze).
Takes a little getting used to with the vibrations as they are so solid.

lol i cant speak a word of french but i buy from direct usually unless im being lazy. Ok kam will be more expensive, but as i said its the same as anything where someone does the leg work for you, hes not going to spend time importing them and cost to charge the same price and loose money.
i just didnt want people to be commenting that a company is a rip off when they dont really understand extra costs involved in importing, especially as the company have a very good reputaion for good reason.

Ive bought abit of stuff from Kam and i will continue to do so! I think his prices are very fair and i understand them and all the effort involved! Kam-Racing is highly recommended!:y: just in this instance i cant afford it and have alot of time on my hands! Usually i leave the effort to someone else! :P

If this is the company that myself and Josh are waiting to order mounts from then they're not exactly reliable, considering Josh emailed them early December and they clearly stated that they would have them before 24th January (which is tomorrow)
Kam ive spent ages over the last few nights having a look for mounts elsewhere as a backup.
Please someone put me out of my misery and show me how much (and provide a link for) the Group N mounts for Mk1 VTS
Thankyou kindly :)
I will scour the site again myself to see if i can find them
