thats correct.
When i had to replace it on one of my last saxo, the part was £12 from Halfords, and it took 2 mins to fit.

Yes, it could affect the idle, but it could be a whole load of other things too..

blue one is for the gauges dude, green one is for the ecu.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt there 3 sensors on the housing, one of which is the knock sensor?
i thought the brown one at the base is the ECU CTS.
We're having this debate at the moment at the blue and green ones so no continuity when checked against the ECU pins.

brown is for air con overheating warning.
green is deffo for the ecu, blue deffo for the gauges.

Gaybastard is right.
Brown is air con, blue gauges, green ecu, although on later models(2001-) the ecu one is blue too. knock sensor is on the back of the engine not the stat housing.

the local motor factors, only have one that is fatter ( where i have outlined)
mine is about 4mm thick, the new one is about 5/7mm? that ok?
it is listed for the right one for my car, a 2001, vtr.
