Have you checked this out? TU engine is an MA box, i'm guessing the 2.0Xsi is an XU engine with a BE box. It won't go in easily, and driveshafts etc will need to be made.
Not saying it isn't possible to put the whole lot across - but it will be time consuming/expensive. And for not much gains TBH. Certainly not for any gains that you couldn't get for less by putting in a VTS engine engine with choice mods.

What XSI is that you are thinking of? I am guessing is a bigger Peugeot.
The 2ltr XU engine can be made to fit. Its not that hard with some basic fabrication skills. Plenty of people have fitted them. Its most people don’t fit the old 2ltr 8V as the weigh a tone and give really pore power. People get a lot more power from the much lighter TU engine that comes in the Saxo so there is just no point unless your just wanting to be different. Its a bit like trying to put a Ford Pinto engine in a early Zetec powered Fiesta.
The mk3 fiestas not really that much more flexible. Just try sticking any of the bigger old or just about any of the newer engines in it and you get the same sort of problems. Just try sticking a Pinto or true Duratec in and you will see what I’m saying.
Don’t worry though. If you want to make your Saxo faster its easy enough. Not to mention the Saxo is a little jem when it comes to handling ;)

I think you are confusing the 106 xsi with the 306 xsi!

why dont you just get A 3.0 litre V6 IN IT OUT OF A 406 COUPE

sorry for not being clear is a 306 my mate has i think its a x reg but he has about 130 bhp and i know with trottle bodies and and bit of fettleing can get 165 bhp easily
im still considereing it if anyone knows someone whos do the fabrication id be tempted i am pratically good at most mechanics but welding i not conqured lol cheers peeps

You could that figure much easier with a vts engine with camms!

a 2 litre engine with throttlebodies pushing out 165 break is crap
can get more than that (as proven recently) with a standard VTR engine on throttlebodies
i don't know what the engine is in a Xsara VTS, but i think its a 2.0 16v... i'd put that in over the one you're looking at... but then again i don't have a clue whether it'd go or not so i'll stop here!
