i heard a lad in halfords talkin bout ecotek valves and wondered what they were and what they do he had a saxo outside in car park and was fitting it there and then.....just wondering what they do? how much?

lol ok no bother...it was a 1.1 turqoise saxo anyway so obviously the owner didnt have a clue what he was doin lol

lmao i agree with all the above but in answer to ur question they are supposed to make ur car more fuel efficient and economical!

teh apparently make a vortex of air in the inlet manifold but from my having one on 2 cars and playign with it all it seemed to do was reduce the brake sevo pressu thus keeping the inlet pressure high so less fuel is sucked through bit pointless i threw mine in with some 8mm leads they look prety though hehehehehehe

i bought one a very long time ago when i first got the car, so about 5 and a half year ago :p

originally ecotec were marketing these as a performance mod. They were later forced to take this out of their advertising.

The fuel savings are a little more costly / difficult to disprove but needless to say that generally letting unmetered air into an induction system is not desirable.
