RIght my head gasket went last night, its in the garage now having a new head gasket, rocker gasket, clutch, cambelt, timing belt, spark plugs, fan and new oil. I decided to have all this done for piece of mind as i bought it private and dont know how its been treated.
What bhp does the 1.4 westcoast run?
And what's the most you can get one running at without an engine conversion or turbo and what would need doing?

west coast runs at 75bhp.
90bhp is quite acheiveible so i belive, its going to cost you over 1000 quid tho

You can get upto about 90bhp with just decent breathing mods..
Whack a mild cam in with a remap and over 100bhp is acheivable..:y:

Oh ok, at the minute it just has an induction kit and an exhaust what would be the most sensible next step?

4-2-1 manifold...Makesure you have an enclosed ind kit aswell..
Then you can go on to cam it if you have the money..:d
I'd also think about sus and brakes too..;)

put it on a diet. thats the quickest and fastest way to make it faster in all aspects of driving. (eg in the corners, accelleration, braking etc). strip out the back seats and get some bucket seats fitted in the front.

Whats The Difference With Having An Enclosed Induction Kit To A Normal K&n For Instance?

The enclosed it draws in cold air from the front of the car whereas the K&N will draw in warm air get the raceland kit bought

Ok any links? Also do you still get that nice tone from the enclosed induction kit as you do from a k&n?

Here you go mate http://www.kam-racing.com/index.php/cPath/81_136/sort/3a/filter_id/24/page/2 you will have a nicer sound from a enclosed induction kit and will be better for performance to.
