ive just got a kent cam for my mk1 vtr (black top)

all i have is a cam, no pulley

do i need the pulley as well
and is there any other parts i need to go with it

so i dont need the vernier pulley then?

i can still use the cam

i heard to get the most out of it i needed a vernier pulley

i dont no alot tbh mate but i think it is better with the pulley.

You can run the cam on the standard pulley i did for some time, the pulley allows the ecu mapper to retard or advance the cam timing either way this allows them change the goal posts on peak power etc, and can some times mean the difference of 3-6bhp depending on each car, i may not of explained this correctly so dont take it for gosple sure someone will put me right if i havent.

get the pulley as it allows you to advance or retard the cam timing of the car i think retarding the timing gives you better bottom end and advancing gives you better top end or its the other way round i am not sure but it changes the timing of the top dead center of the pistons and valves
