yea ive had the same problem a few times, couldnt be bothered with all the meither of sending the pipe back so just gun gummed it first time (this worked for about 2 weeks)lol. then got a new clamp and changed it, only a 5 miniute job really not worth the hassle of sending the pipe back imo.

im getting mine welded up, i did use putty and a decent clamp but the putty has started to fall off, i mean i could always re apply it and let the engine run longer, maybe hlf an hour didnt cure it or maybe its because i bought cheap putty

I was wondering why mine starts blowing about a month after having it fixed.......didnt realise it was a Magnex fault. I thought my mechanic was a bit crap!
Mine goes about a month sounding good, then sounds like a fart can after that. Will need sorting before my next MOT I guess....

What condition are the exhaust rubbers in matey? If they've perished, they could be causing the joint to flex and break the paste away - I know Gun Gum goes very brittle once it's dried.

Dont know, my mechanic always (kind of) fixes it for me. Guess I'll have to get under and have a look myself!

gun gum is for repairing holes not sealing a join.
use fire gum, loads of it, on both sides, and a citroen original clamp(c shape)
assemble it in position, do up the clamp, don't let the fire gum dry so be quick, then start the engine, hold revs at 3k for 10 mins, don't let the revs drop as the exhaust needs a good amount of heat and positive pressure to seal properly.
i have had loads of exhausts and without using the proper clamp, paste and method they never seal.

If you buy a magnex, there guarantee for life.So if it breaks they will replace it every time, without fail.Had my middle pipe replaced, few weeks ago, came off on speed bump in work..
