Could never really be bothered to start a thread on my car before.
But I thought I might aswell put one together after the work I've done recently.
So here it is!
Bought my car in February 2007, a Mk2 Saxo 1.1i Desire, X Reg, 34,000 miles on the clock.
Was in awesome condition when I went to view it so I took the oppotunity and bought it.
Was completely standard to start off with, even had the original hubcaps :p .

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q141/samuelbrazier/6.jpg
It wasnt long before I had some ideas on some mods for it.
First came the idea of some VTR alloys for it.
Snapped some up on ebay for £100 quid in mint condition with near new michelin pilots :y:.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q141/samuelbrazier/7.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q141/samuelbrazier/8.jpg
It then got the the summer and i still hadnt got round to taking my driving test, so I stopped putting money into my car as it wasnt in use.
It then got to October, I took my test and passed first time :p
So the car was an interest again.
I thought long and hard about what i wanted to do it it.
Looked at several bodykits for it, but in the end I just wanted it looking normal, so...
I bought a complete VT* kit for it.
In Posi Blue already, and in really good condition.
Couldnt wait to get it fitted, but looked around at several places for fitting and they were going to charge alot for a job I thought I could do myself.
So I started with fitting the bumpers...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q141/samuelbrazier/9.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q141/samuelbrazier/11.jpg
Looked good, but obviously looked abit silly without the rest of the kits on there.
Next came the door panels and the rear arches,
Along with some nice german style plates:y: ....
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q141/samuelbrazier/12.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q141/samuelbrazier/13.jpg
Left it over Christmas as it was way too cold to fit the rest of the kit.
Got to mid january when it started to warm (abit),
So I got to work finishing my kit...

Looks really good and im really happy that I saved myself alot of money doing it myself.
Following Willsys guide of course :A:
And there we have it so far.
What is everyones opinions on it?
Here are some shots I took yesterday with a couple of mates...

How low you reckon I should go?
Other plans for it are to go euro/german hopefully.
Been looking around at various wheels.
Really like the look of Borbet Type A's
What type of exhaust do you reckon i should go for?

12th February 2008, 15:19
Looks so much better with the VT kit :) Would lower it now dude :)
braziers
12th February 2008, 15:52
yeah, the VT kit looks alot better than the flat arch :)
any suggestions on future mods?
i want to go euro/german
but could be tempted down another route

12th February 2008, 17:25
i would go 50mm all round now that you have a vt* kit i have a flat arch and its lowered 50mm on the front and about 60mm on the rear as they tent to sit a little high at the rear so it sits level now:y:

Nice mate, how much did your VT kit set you back?
Raz
13th February 2008, 09:23
if your going to do a euro theme...it needs to be on its ass.....
60mm all round :) with some nice Schmidts (sp) or Ronal Turbo's :) then remove the fog lights and smooth over.....colour code the bumber strips...get a decent exhaust....
then drop a vtr/s engine in and work on that....show car :P

Yeah I wana go really low.
Only thing is I've seen a few saxo's with ronals and schmidts.
I wana try another wheel, its just finding the right ones :)
I wana leave the bumper strips black, i like how they look.
As for the exhaust, what do you recommend?
I think a VTR/S engine is out of the question, hopefully get a VTS this time next year anyway:p

Really nice car there .
Dewiper ( if not done already )
remove the arial
lower 50mm alround
deep dish alloys
smooth front and rear bumper ( but with a wide mouth on the front bumper )
and then a hidden exhuast .
thats what i would do to it ,
but have you got any more plans yet for it .

Right its been a very long time since ive been on saxperience.
The reason is I have had literally no money to mod my car any further than what you can see in this thread.
I quit my previous job just after my last post was made due to the place being an absolute hell hole.
Since then its been very slow with the car.
I managed to fit my Parrot bluetooth kit in the car, which I have to say is awesome!
If you have read this thread you will know I really want to go down the Euro/German root with styling.
Unfortunately with the lack of money, I have been unable so far to keep this dream alive.
But hopefully I am starting a new job soon, which means money will be coming in, and the mods will start again.
Possibly with a new car :P
Its good to be back :D

So anyways ive been away from here for a while again due to a problem I had.
Last monoth, some bloody pikey broke into my car and stole my radio, my bluetooth parrot, my camera etc.
Was well and truely pissed off.
Especially as it was in tescos carpark, which isnt exactly deserted at any point, and it was mid afternoon, and extremely busy anyway!
So For the last month ive had all the insurance malarky, had it gone off for repair, all new locks ignition, new radio and all my stuff back etc.
Now my bloody immobiliser shuts the engine off.
Im hoping its a faulty ignition barrel.
Read a few threads on here about it.
Wondering if anyone can give me any help at all on it.
The light comes on and flashes, but not everytime i start the car.
And sometimes it wont start at all, just ticks over, with the light flashing away.

Mine does that, its done it since i got it! I just turn the ignition off, leave it a few seconds then turn it back on! What i've learnt to do is turn ignition to second click, wait till the key light goes out then start it up :)

update: cars gone in again today for the 4th time since being broken into due to the immobilser problem
got a nicer courtesy car this time around
new polo :p
hope my car gets sorted though
yet another bugger is the fact that as i was driving it to citroen, the service light came on!
yet more money haha
braziers
4th October 2008, 10:53
got my car back from citroen.
finally fixed
light doesnt come on at all
they said the keys hadnt been sync'd with the immobiliser properly, and that the ring around the new ignition barrel was faulty
all adding to the light issue
so theyve sorted it all
and its all done haha
the cars got its service and mot in a couple of weeks, will let everyone know how it does.
gotta mend a little something before it goes in for that
bumper doesnt fit exactly right at the mo
so gonna get that off
clean all round the front end
and get it back on
before mot time haha

Little Update
Got to work on the bumper issure i had this morning.
First thing i did, was removed the front wheels, gave them a right good cleaning inside and out, brake dust literally lined the entire inside of the wheel.
Next thing was remove the front arch liners from the car, as i still had the flat arch ones on there with the VT kit, so they didnt fit right, so off they came.
Then i removed the bumper, and on doing so came across a few things.
One of which was the reason the bumper wasnt sitting right, somehow the very bottom of the slam panel had been bent, and was pulling the bumper the wrong way, so i straighted it all out.
Whilst the bumper was off i also noticed my N/S fog light had a broken bracket, so just incase they decide to fail it on its MOT next week because of it, i took both fogs off, ill get a new fog after MOT.
The other thing was the trim under my N/S headlamp trim was cracked, and when i took the bumper off it came really loose, and ended up falling off while i was straightening the lower panel.
So now i need a new one of them too :wall:.
But now the bumper fits better so im happy with that:y:.
Heres some pics for you to look at, not that you havent seen these kinda things before.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k230/sambrazier/091020083302.jpg
Heres a pic of my engine bay. I know its really dirty, and needs a good clean, but what else could i do to it to improve it?
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k230/sambrazier/091020083312.jpg
And this is how it looks now. Also took the front badge off as it needs repainting.

just about to go halfrauds, need to get some shorter exhaust brackets so that it sits in the recess better.

just got back from halfrauds, got some exhaust mounts, and just fitted them, exhaust sits so much better now.
Dont think ive ever shown the exhaust on here.
Will get a picture of it tomorrow.
I had it fitted a few months back after my old one that came with the car fell off.
I didnt get anything fancy, just a nice oval shaped pipe that kinda looks like a standard vtr one.
Also just started respraying my badges after the back got chipped :n:
Going posi blue this time.
braziers
10th October 2008, 08:28
started car up this morning, and the centre pipe now robs on the bottom of the car, so im going to have to lower the exhaust back down.
dont know how to overcome this?
also, sprayed my badges slightly darker than posi blue, look really good
ill get them on the car tonight

within reason yeah.
the ones i made here are just one colour vinyl, precision cut, with no clear part at all, all thats there is the yellow.
i can do them, for literally pennies haha
just have to go pop into the place i use and get them done.
at the moment though, i cant do multi coloured decals, but i just designed a down and out sticker for a friend, in full colour, and ordered them off a website i found, and they came out really well.
ill find the site and let everyone know :y:

Yet again, I havent been on here in a while.
And I'm sad to say, I've left the saxo club :(
Finally picked up the Jazz I was waiting around for, which I've already started work on. Ill get some photos of it up on here when I've done a few more things.
The saxo started to go wrong here there and everywhere in the last few weeks.
All the guages died on me, the drivers window died etc.
Problem after problem, despite having it for 2 years with nothing gone wrong before!
Oh well, good thing is its staying in the family, and everythings going to get fixed for when my brother passes his test, so he can then have it.
Still gonna be driving it for the next few days until I get my v5 for the Jazz and get it taxed.
Im gonna get started on a progress thread for the Jazz on another forum, might get one up on here too, but Ill certainly link everyone to it :y:
