hiya i have got a vtr mk2 2000 which i am planning on turboing as my mate knows someone who has and he says is pretty nippy. im just planning on doing it for the tsshhh and i also want an increase in power but i would only run it at about 6psi boost because i dont really want to replace engine components eg pistons and stuff. i was wondering if i got the entry level kit from cituning for my car what else would i need to get it all running right. with this kit you get

· Stainless Steel 4 Branch Manifold
· Hybrid Turbocharger – 6 psi actuator
· Stainless Downpipe (inc. Sport Cat provision for Twin Lambda 01> VTR only)
· Stainless Air Pipe
· Silicone Hose Connections
· Green Air Filter
· Stainless Steel Boost Pipe
· Silicone Hoses as required
· Aeroquip Oil Feed Pipe & Non-Return Valve
· Aeroquip Oil Cooler Hoses & 10 Row Oil Cooler
· Remote Oil Filter Kit
· Modified Sump
· Heatshield, Mounting Brackets & Hardware

thanks tom

I would ask them. If they are selling it as a kit I guess it runs as is. I see there is no inter cooler so it probably runs very hot and does not get much extra air. So still being able to run on stock management. But in so doing have a very small gain in power. I would guess 10 to 20bhp. I would be tempted to only run it on very good fuel as you are pushing it a bit.

there is an intercooler in the kit but isnt stated for some reason and yeah i just wanted to know if it would need a remap as i would want abit of a power gain

Its only there stage two kit has a intercooler. But they have also added a piggyback ECU called a MF2. The kit you are looking as has none.

does that not make that kit a little useless as 99% of people will add an intercooler and aftermarket management?

what would be the cheapest way of doing it then. buy all the bits seperate or buy the kit then the other extra bits needed

i dont believe theres a cheap way of turboing a car, yes you could spend more on an overpriced kit, i think the main thing to concentrate on with turbo charged cars is doing it RIGHT. not cheap!
