which do people recommend on here

Toyo T1-R's (can get them for 40 quid a corner)

or

Gooyear Eagle F1 GSD3's (can get them for 42 quid a corner)

id like people to vote who actually have these tyres if you can

also heard that toyos can wear down quicker, anyone shed any light on this??

yeah mate ive heard the same they are ment to wear quicker due to being a 'street- racing tyre' also heard some mixed review about them on cliosport being rubbish in the wet. dont know how reliable that info is though

I don’t think it really matters. There both a half way house tyre and really not that great at any one thing. Any good brand performance road rubber will not be a world apart. Its not till you get to track rubber or cheap road rubber that you see the really big difference.

i dont really want to spend over 45 on each corner tbh thats why i choose them 2, just want a tyre to give me good grip but not to wear quick

Just got 4 new eagles put on on Tuesday mate, replacing my old pilots. Never had a gripper tyre than the eagles though (havent tried proxies so i cant compare directly) but i rate the eagles over pilots.

Will just need to see how long they last, got about year and a half out of my pilots

I acctually plan to get a set of Pilots on my spare S rims since i struggled to choose between the 2 when i bought th eagles (about 8 months ago and finally fitted em lol)

P.S. Eagles provoke me to go a little quicker round bends though ;)

EDIT: Heres the results of my poll :) (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77742)

ive had both and prefer the toyos, i have t1s's tho which grip beter but wear quicker.

either on the front is fine but the eagles didnt work so well on the back.

i think the toyos just suit my driving style tho

i had a set of T1'Rs and they were immense.

best tyre i have ever owned.
until i had toyos on every corner i never realised how the car could actually handle.

also very good in wet conditions, always felt confident with them

The reason the toyos wear out quicker is because they are made from a softer compound so whilst giving you more grip they also wear out quicker. I would go for the f1's. For my next set not sure whether to go for f1's or michelins, probably f1's as the michelins will tend to crack on the wall after a while

Few of my mates at work had T1r's, both crashed in the wet lol, Just drive a bit more careful if it's damp, as they are dry tyres ideally. amazing grip though.
