Ok first off all i do apologize if this has been asked before i have looked in the stickies and also searched but couldnt find the answer..

Basically im looking into doing a 16v conversion ( currently have a VTR ) and i was going with the obvious choice of a VTS engine or a 106 GTI, now ive read a lot of threads that say the 106 basically is a saxo but with a different shell.

Now is this the case with the engines too? do they both have the same BHP?

thanks in advance

citroen shells are stamped up pugeot under the carpet because they are made by the same company which is pugeot citroen and talbort remember talbort sunbeams. as for the engine they are the same engine but fall into brackets if you have a mk1 saxo only the mark1 saxo vts engine or the early GTI and if you have a mark 2 saxo a mk2 VTS or later GTI engine will fit as the later ones are on a 3 plug ECU and some of the sensors are different but as a rule they are the same engines
