had a search and a read round the forums but need help asap making final decisions!

current tyres are michelin pilot sports sx 185/55r14 speed rating 79h and 2 need replacing. too expensive to get same again though!

looking at:

toyo proxes cf1 - heard they're grippy but wear down quick
avon zv3 - don't know much about these...
falken ziex ze 512 (swaying towards these) - good all rounder? must admit i like the read pattern aswell :homme:

opinions on the above? any other suggestions?

cheers, chris :)

aye, £37 delivered per tyre for the proxes or falkens. so it's really just a matter of choice

would probably go for f1's if they did them in 185/55/14. just have to wait til i get some 15s i guess!

hmmmmm... proxes or falkens..?

great tyres mate

if you could of got eagle f1s in that size it would of been a bit better, as ive heard toyos are great but with them being a soft compound they wear down quicker

Out of them three i would have gone for the avons, they have very good grip, somewhere near the proxes and last longer than the proxes and are cheaper than the proxes

ah well at £37 per tyre you can afford to replace them a bit more often!

plus only a fiver a corner for fitting, valve and balance which is good

will get eagle f1s if/when i get some 15s

thanks again all

chris :)

they do indeed, and to be fair, there acutally rather good in the wet.

Obviously you can't throw it around so much. But there more an ample grip for normal driving, however i wouldn't fancy hitting standing water on them!

tyres are finally on :y: actually ended up getting them fitted at south shore tyres! been there a few times in the past it turns out... just didn't realise it was same place you were on about :zainy:

great service though and a very fair price. would've worked out pretty much same price to get these tyres from him rather than camskill lol so will just go there next time

reason all this has taken so long is these crap design locking nuts! 2 came out ok but the others were just rounding off. thought it was just me but even the garage had trouble. ended up getting this place opposite south shore tyres to hammer a socket over and buzzgun them out. they've since been binned and i need some replacements of a better design! :panic:

cheers, chris
