wouldnt be worth it, just tell him to invest his money in a proper rwd car imo

As above the easiest was is to put the ongine in the back but expect to pay over 5k
And for that money get an mr2 turbo or something

would have thought for the money you could get a much faster and better car ! pointless....

but IF he wanted too.
The engine would have to go in the back as RWD cars the engnines sit like | rather than -

also wouldnt be much grip on rear wheels as theres almost nothing to the rear end of a saxo, correct?

diff and shafts would add to the rear weight. Would be fairly straightforward if you know what youre doing, but it means a fair bit of fabrication. Im talking about leaving a longi engine in the front.

theres no "tunnel" on a saxo, therefor all the drivetreain would be sticking out the bottom. plus the engine is mounted longtitudinally, and FE RWD Cars are mounted transversly, hense a 90deg coupling would be needed, then the driveshafts would not be central.I t's really not worth it! :)

Why? Cosworth has been done in a citroen ax and also a pug 106 so could be done in a saxo. 'Easiest' way would be to weld in the floorpan from the cosworth which would make the running gear bolt straight on (custom shortened propshaft would be needed), using wide arches to cover the extended track. You'd then have the option of going rwd or 4x4. As for keeping the original saxo/citroen engine, i'm sure something could be worked out using bits from a citroen 4x4 van, just as there was a fiesta rst 4x4 which used transmission from a mondeo 4x4. :) Not cheap but then no-one ever said it would be.;)

You could just buy a cosworth? Would probably be cheaper, especially if you paid someone to do it. Never seen the point myself, after you've finished its not really a saxo!

you could just buy a cosworth. But then you could just buy an evo. But then you could buy a ferrari etc...
Not really the point in pushing the limits...

to be honest it would just spin every 30 seconds as the rear would overtake the front as its such a short car! same as this....

You say that but ive been told a 911 has the same distance between wheels as a saxo.

That’s a stupid idea! Why would anyone want to do that to a saxo lol!! They handle perfectly fine as they are... no need to go and ruin it! If he wants rwd, then just tell him to buy a rwd car!??
Keeping the engine in the orientation it is now would be inefficient... as previously stated you would need 2 bevel gears... they aren’t very efficient, so with 2 you would lose quite a bit of power through the transmission!
Tell your mate to invest his money in a supercharger!!

so if i was to come to you with money and wanted it done you would turn it down saying no point as its not a saxo??
i very much doubt that tbh ;)

Not much of a 'tuning' company if you have that attitude are you? Using your logic what's the point in developing an ecu etc? You'd recommend just buying a faster car instead of tuning a saxo? Not going to do much business are you:bored:

I was simply voicing my personal opinion on major conversions such as that.
Basic Tuning such as ECU's Cam's etc is a completley different ball game and you know it guys :y: .
