Hi,
I live on a small island in the channel islands called jersey where there is a cool scene of cars but vts engines are rare and the speed limit is 40 mph so i am going to continue modifying this tu lump, another reason why i am moding it is i am a training as a citroen technician at the citroen garage over here and really like the tu engine.
i have a 2002 saxo vtr with full exhaust, 4 branch manifold, cold air induction a fast road cam, with vernier pulley and it is putting out 106 bhp and 104 fpt
i bought the car like this and do not know if the ecu has been mapped. is 106 bhp, 104 fpt about right for these mods or is my ecu not mapped?
Thanks to anyone who can help with my question

106 with a cam?... your car has problems....
Edit: Is that at the fly or the wheels..
is the speed limit 40 across you island everywhere??

mayswell have a bike, is the power at the fly or the wheels,

depends how 'wild' the cam is

106 at fly wheel so its made 8 bhp form standard that is why i think the ecu is not mapped. There is know facilities over here to map cars, you have to go to the mainland so i think im guna order an ecu that would most suit my set up.
yeah the speed limit is 40 but only on long, long straights

106bhp seems incredibly low.

Mine made more without a cam lol... I'd be worried tbh.
Sure ryan or someone will shed some light on it for you.

Yes i was about to say it should make more than that with a filter, 4 branch and exhaust system lol.

Well if you think its low then i dont think the ecu is mapped so what ecu do u recommend for my set up to boost my power

Should be miles higher than that without the need for the remap.
The remap gets the most out of the cams and allows the engine to run properly with them especially if they're a more wild cam...

the guy who had it before me lowered it to much and crushed 2 of the manifold branches to half there diameter is that enouph to cause that much power loss ?

I am wondering if it has been setup correctly with regards to the vernier pulley?.
And the crushed manifold should be replaced too.

how would i check it is set up properly ?

how the hell do you crush the manifold when lowering.
definatly replace the manifold for a start

Get that manifold replaced, i'm sure if theres a way to check (without going to someone who remaps strandard ECU's) to actually check its been done?
106 sounds very low too me also

When you lower the car, the manifold presents as the lowest point on the car, so any speed hump or anywhere when the car bottoms out (especially if it's been lowered and the bump stops removed) you will crush the manifold. I've seen it before.

yeah thats what happend he went over a speed bump at speed and crushed it, i think im guna check my cam setting with my teacher at college, get a new manifold and get my ecu chipped, then put it back on rollers.
