Can sum1 tell me wot this lot means please?

hi ya

can some please kindly elaborate in as much detail as poss what this lot actually means:


tuned engine with piper cam shaft, ported, polished and gasflowed head 120bhp ish, valve stem seals, cam shaft seal, exhaust mainifold gasket

magnets rear silncer 6 by 4 inch, just serviced oil and filter and fuel filter cam belt done at 80000, after market steering wheel, tarox brake discs and red dot pads, k and n air filter and engine breather. fuel octane booster

Just not very clued up with the engine stuff on cars so fort u guys would be gr8 to help me??

piper cam shaft = Its a brand of 3rd party cam shaft. Depending on the spec of the cam they can give you more or less power.

valve stem seals = standard part that only require replacing if the engine is warn

cam shaft seal = There are replaced when you change the cam

engine breather = Its a botch that people do when they put cheap air filters on with no breather pipe. They are also strictly speaking not road legal and will fail a MOT.

fuel octane booster = This is a very odd one to list. It sounds like they are selling some fuel additive with it. Though you really would not wish to use this. These things are normally used by people who are running big boost. It basically stops the fuel spontaneously combustion. It will probably loose power in engine they have there.


Basically whoever wrote that does not know much about there car or did not want to tell. Its potentially a load of junk. Personally I would avoid it. If you are looking to get it ask him these questions and see what reply you get.

What cam profile is it and is it from a blank or reground?

Who made the ported head and how much did it cost you?

Have you got the dyno graph to prove the power?

Have you got all the paperwork for the relevant engine parts?

If he can not answer that I would just walk away if I was you.

Hes expained most for you. He may just mean hes had those seals replaced.id wana see a dyno though as its proberly a lie. If he got far highly profiled cams then a remap may of beein needed aswell.
