Hello, help please.

Hi ive recently been working on my saxo Vts trying to find the problem,

The car is a vts with a 106gti engine in it and worked fine befor i had this problem,

I have tryed brand new coil pack, map sensor and a new set of spark plugs, fuel pump

now what happens is the engine sounds like its either lack of fuel or running on 3 cylenders, it has no power and will cut out if left to idle. the car will rev to red line but will sound loud and the exhaust will smell, the engine temp will be fine, the head gasket is fine. The car runs but feels like it has no power and struggles to rev, Could i be right in thinkin i have an exhuast blockage? the exhaust also gets more hot than it should.

could be the lamba sensor as the smell is prob the cat .
and as it controls the fueling your prob running rich
on tick over but will clear as you rev up

it could be that the injection system is blocked up - had the same problem in my fiesta with all the same symptoms as you are describing

i simply cleaned mine by running a bottle of STP fuel injector system cleaner through the engine, and just like magic it was fixed and felt better than ever

I did think this tbh, because previously it was intermitent and now does it constantly!

Hi matey, had the same problem last year! turned out to be worn out injector,replaced it and had happy driven again!! hope this helps you in anyway.....
