plz help!!!

when i start the car the temprature light comes on straight away and the fan kicks in does enyone know how to solve this??

bump ... is this the water pump or could it be something else??

could be temp sensor or could be fan switch

could even be thermostat, trial and error i think buddy;)

When you say straight away... do you mean instantly? Or after a short drive? Does it have a temp gauge? If so what's that doing?

as soon i turn the key and no temprature gauge only the light on the dash

And the fan comes on at the same time?

The sensor for the warning lights located on the thermostat... I can't remember which colour it is. The one for the fan (i think) is on the top of the radiator (battery side)

Best thing to do with electrical faults is take it to a garage for a diagnosis... Croxdale Citroen only charge £37.50 I think for them to tell you what’s wrong with it... you will probably find somewhere cheaper but they won't guarantee to tell you what’s up.

Or you could just try changing those 2 sensors…

have a look on the tem sensor plug it could be not connecting propperly wich makes this happen mate

cheers all i was thinkin the head gasket might have gone but i think its probs the termo stat got it booked into the garage enyways

If the lights coming on instantly then it's probably electrical as it would still take a while for the engine to heat up if the thermostat isn’t opening... same with the water pump.

If it's been overheated the head will probably be warped and the head gasket will go!
