I just fitted a piper stainless 4-1 manifold on my saxo vtr which also de-catted my car as the cat was on the manifold. It had much better throttle response and the sound still brings a smile to my face lol.
A 4-2-1 should be even better for low to mid range performance coz 4-1 manifolds are better for mid to high range.
you can pick them up for around £150 or if you want a stainless your lookin at around £250 ish. But try pick a decent second hand one up from ebay and save some money.
hope this helps
