Urm, little end bearings? Big ends are more of a "knock"

Could be the water oil pump tapping maybe.

tappets are what usually give the 8v the tappy sewing machine noise. depends on how they are adjusted. did they do them when they did valves???

I wouldn't have thought so, it is tapping all the time? Or at certain revs or load?

have you checked the maifold gasket i thought it was tapets but it was just a knackered gasket. if you have a performance manifold the standard citreon gasket does not always last as long hope this helps x x x

to me if u mean 130k on the clock it could be gasket as the lovely lady above states but also loose bearings small end as rcd has pointed out due to the high milage often common used bearing no longer fit correctly
