Still No Power VTR

I have now tried everything i know it has good spark, fuel is getting through and there is good compression but the engine is still struggling to produce anywhere near maximum power? Any ideas welcome :)

yea they did a comression test at the garage reading came out good from what they said. One thing is i fitted a new fuel tank a week of two ago and had to put a plastic connector in the fuel line so it could reach from the tank to the fuel filter but the inside diameter of the connector was slightly smaller than the pipe could this be effecting it?

How much smaller? I dont think it would as long as its not like half the diameter.

very slightly not enough to effect it i dont think. Just running out of ideas of what it could be really.... Would it be a possibility of blocked injectors? The tank that i fitted over my old one was of a later model saxo where all the sender unit is integral in the fuel pump, this couldnt be doing it i.e stronger fuel pump? or is pressure regulated by the fuel rail?

if you crank the engine with the fuel rail unbolted so all the injectors spray into a few big rags, youll see if any are a bit shite. Uncommon, but it seems youre getting desperate.

Check that the fuel pump youre using isnt a spi pump. Try putting your old one in.

Old pump doesnt have the sender unit in so think i will have to drop the tank again to fit it:n: Well i think ill pop it down to the garage tomorrow see what the diagnostics come up with the go from there.... cheers tho lads :y:

Well yeah there is that way of doing it, doesnt really check the patterns, only the fact fuel pisses out.

If there partially blocked, you may just be about to see.

no sender unit in old pump? What pump were you using, Xsi or something?

the unit on the older saxos is seperate to that of the pump where as on the new tank its integral.

never seen a separate one dude. You must have a very early VTR :)

after all it was the manifold pressure sensor had given up
