View Full Version : Whats this?? as i think its whats messing my engine around

when i unplug this my car idles at 2k revs. now, sometimes my car idles at 2k revs randomly when im driving then drops, n shoots up etc, so i think this may be faulty, does anyone no what it is???

its a part of your inlet manifold two secs il find the actual name for it, il be able to tell you when my brother gets home

cheers pal, its like a plug goes into the throttle body, i was hoping someone to say its a sensor cos that will explain the revs

it might well be mate, would that part effect the idle on my car then?? or am i just hoping it might be somethin as simple as that lol?

well i suppose it would slightly, you may want to check your coolant sensor too as they are rather tempremental and is more likely to make your engine rev because if the sensor is telling you the ecu that the engine is cold it will increase the revs to warm it up slightly, do you have a mate with a vtr? best thing to do is swap over the piece your quering about see if it makes a difference, if it does thats your problem if it oesnt try different things then you know what you have to buy

throtle position sensor make sure you have a good conection

It's not the TPS pepper953, its the Idle control valve as said above, its the main cause of idle problems on saxo's get it changed if your idle is irratic.

ive been told, if i un-bolt the icv and clean it with carbretor cleaner and maybe clean the throttle body out, it may solve it, im gonna chnage the coolant temp sens too as the petrol smell (even sprays) sometimes
