oky doke, i did have a look to see if this question had been asked in the search options but couldnt find anything of help, so i thought id ask. is it possible to put a vts head on a vtr, and is it worth it? i know you wouldnt have the vts gearbox so it would be as quick as a vts wondered what you recon? cheers

nope! unless you are a wizard, its just not worth the hassle, whereas you can get a vts lump for 200 quid and wack that in

can be done but for the amount of work involved it's pointless, and more cost effective just to buy a vts engine.

can a vts engine be used with a vtr gearbox, or am is it worth just getting the whole lot?

the only reason to do it is for racing regulations where you have to retain the original block. Certainly can be done but when most can just drop in a 16v engine there is no point :y:

i thought the vts gearbox had different gear ratio's for 1st and second

no they're not, both have the same gearset but different final drive. Putting a vtr gearbox in a vts will slow you down, and vice versa with fitting a vts gearbox to a vtr improving acceleration slightly.
