Coughing & spluttering

hey people

jus wondered if anyone could help this is my first citroen and my 2000 saxo vtr mk2 has a lil problem and i havent a clue what it is or how to cure it every now and then when idling or some times when driving either hard or normally for a second the engine coughs if u like like a dead spot at idle when i does it it gores from1000rpm down to about 500rpm the goes back idle i havent a clue what this is can anyone help asap pleeeeeeeeeeeease

faulty idle sensor give it a clean or get a new one buddy common fault on pugs and citroens

it does it up near 3k aswell will it still be then same sensor and where is that sensor on the car

buddy go get urself a Haynes Manual for saxo! will find anything u need in there exactly where and how to take it appart buddy!
