Hi Peeps!

Im considering getting my mk2 01' VTR cammed just wanted to know how much you guys paid to get them fitted? And what cams you would recommend buying and where from etc..

Also what sort of performance figures/benefits did you gain??

Cheers

P.S. Sorry if this has been posted already i had a quick search but couldnt find anything with all the question i want to know answers to in one thread lol.

Fitting can be from around £200+ depending on where you go.

There is the 285 cam made by Piper or Kent but i think its only a 262 or something like that iirc. There are also QEP, GMC and other places who all sell an uprated cam for the VTR.

Performance with just the cam wont be much if at all but with a remap or dastek, kms etc will help. With an enclosed filter, full exhaust, cam, pulley, valve springs, plus the cam and remap you'll be looking at around 120-130bhp atf.

i had a piper 285 in my old vtr, had a wanky pipercross filter, standard mani still with the cat in and a cat back exhaust from EUK (5 inch jap can lol those were the days) and i ran 114bhp
so with a decent manifold, exhuast and filter i would hope to see 120 maybe without a remap, but they do idle a bit lumpy unmapped, mine did
