Finding TDC

Hello,

The time will soon come when my tappets need doing, I could probably do it my self if I can find out a few things.

How do you find the TDC (Top dead Centre) on a 1996 1.4mpi VSX (Engine: TU3) and also on a feeler gadge what thickness should I use when I'm adjusting the tappets?

On the cam pulley on the side you'll see a hole (an m10 iirc will fit through it) rotate that hole until you can put a bolt through the hole, and into a hole on the frontside of the side of the head, it's not at tdc

This is only a quick and easy way of doing it.

It's in the haynes manul about clearances and how to do it - a good investment !!
