if i heat wrap my raceland manifold can i chuck my ugly looking cover to show off or does it have some purpose?

no the just throw it in the bin.
its only there to stop the hot manifold from haeting the radiator and to stop people burning themselfs

give it a good 2 layers of heatwrap
