View Full Version : Tuning Companies...
What can you guys recommend me?
Been interested in a remap for the Derv for a while now and think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get one done.
Some of the figures I have seen increases fuel by 10% and power by 36% which you can't complain about.
Comments?

go for it, just for the sake of improved fuel consumption it will be worth it in the long run if you do over 12k miles a year tbh
and a boost in power aint bad :o
I do on average 15 - 18,000 miles a year, so it will pay for itself.

fuel consumption will drop, no matter what people say.
would avoid derv doctor personally ;) Someone who specialises in tuning pugs would be the best idea. Ask other people with that model of engine who've had it mapped already what they have. You can get 185bhp 350lb/ft out of a standard fabia turbo but it won't be smooth, efficient and most of all it will ruin the clutch & dual mass fly and turbo quite quickly
tuning boxes are definitely to be avoided, go for a proper remap(ecu chip/eeprom reflash, either custom or generic)
Think you have just put me off lol.
My uncle has got a Discovery 2.5TD (3 kids so needs it) as they are all in baby seats, need luggage spaces as they camp a lot etc but he was getting 26mpg so he had it chipped and gets 32mpg.

not sure where Shipley is but there is a company in the midlands called Angel Tuning who do good remaps. They do get better fuel consumption results too

They are actually in Cornwall.
You'll save fuel dependant on how you drive it, I went the extra power there when needed to be honest.
It's £360 for it doing.
