Alright all!

I'm been on holiday since the 5th June and as much as i'm been enjoying the sun in the Dominican Republic, i'm starting to get bored lol! So i've been reading the last issue of Performance French Car and noticed an ad for a gas flowed head with cams for 700 but wasn't sure if spending the extra money would be worth it?

Can you therefore advice me on weither a gas flowed head would be worth the money?

Oh, as the local internet cafe charge stupid rates to go online, i won't be online again until at least the 20th :)

Thanks in advance :)

A good new job from some one like Longman or GMC is worth the money in my opinion. The shit for on ebay and tuners that will remain unnamed is quire frankly appalling at best and utterly useless if your lucky. There really is some rubbish out there so just be very careful.

I've been looking at a HiFlow Head (http://www.hiflowheads.co.uk/)

Can you tell me what sort of power i'll be getting?

what are your other mods?

on a near standard car you may gain 1 - 2 bhp

exactly, worked heads only give better gains when used to compliment other mods, such as high lift/duration cams.

each head SHOULD be tailored to the rest of the spec, and not be a generic "flowed head"

a good head can gain more than cams ;)

The only head I have had I have had from people who deal with the public are GMC and Longman. I have had a few others including Hiflow and LAD and would never recommend them.

Thanks AXRacing, i'll take a look at GMC and Longman!

My engine is currently standard, but looking at 708 cams with a gas flowed head.... but wasn't sure on the amount of power I would gain....

Sorry for not replying, as said i'm on hols and can't check the internet very often :)

The C2 Citreon Sport heads I'm told are worth 20bhp. You pay the best part of £1000 for them though. Obviously you will need other mods to realise that as it won't do that on a standard engine

The performance of heads is only as good as the person doing the work

We send ours to one guy only :y:

It's already been kind of said, but I will say this anyway. Only get the head modified if you are sure that you are going to go further than just installing some fast road camshafts. There's just not enough benifit to offset the costs if you don't. If you are going to go for a flowed head with bigger valves, and all the usual trimmings, you want to me looking at a iTB set up, with fast road camshafts at the VERY minimum.

My dad is a mechanic so hard as nails lol!

Thanks for the comments guys! As i'm only planning on cams, i'll probably leave the head allown, but seeing as its got to come off anyway, we might give it a go :)

Going to polish the throttle body though :)
