Hi fellas I have only recently joined your site but I have been interested in a turbo conversion for sometime on my VTR. Had a quote from DP but they said 3k thought that was a bit much for gains which they couldn't back up so I was looking for some advise? Price, Place or could one of you fellas do the job??? I will be putting pics of my car as soon as I take some new ones!

DP are the only company doing saxo turbo conversions. They have had a realible VTR making 200bhp plus and now have a 250bhp VTS. The majority of the cost is in the kit and they use mainly GMC stuff. Personally I don't think you could do the conversion anywhere else any cheaper and have it realiable.

there was a navy VTR in Revs a few months ago which had a "Prism Motorsport" turbo conversion. The guy that owned it seemed quite happy with it. He claims 170-180 bhp thats using a T225 turbo, prism intercooler and dump valve, K&N filter and custom straight through exhaust.

As far as I know, Prisms number is 020 8804 6984.

If you phone them can u tell me a price?!! I rarely get the chance to phone!

they also had a 220bhp VTS in Performance GTI mag which they timed on Racelogic VBOX timing equipment, 6.05 0-60 not bad for a saxo. That one used a T28 turbo.

Fuck. Geoff Lowe used to get 6.00 seconds to 60 in his 200BHP S/C VTR

I timed a 5.5 in my 235BHP VTS today with 1 passenger and barely legal slightly deflated tyres<img src= "smileys/grin.gif">

Hello.

Is the turbo conversion realiable?

Here in Portugal we make lots and lots of miles full gas.

Here we don´t have any turbo or supercharger conversion

Because we have fear that the car broke.

Does this conversion give more top speed.

Here the one of the fast saxo vts make 155 mi/hr and cut 7800 rpm and make a lot of miles without break.

This car have ecu, cams, induction, exhaust, those a turbo car make more and have reliability.

turbo and supercharger cars are now starting to be more reliable yes... but you have to be ready for a few problems along the way.

As for top speed, the turbo will allow you to get to your top speed quicker and easier.. but this is limited by your choice of gearbox really.
