My Vts rev limiter is 7500rpm, just want to know is that the standard rev limit for a vts or has it been increased when it was chipped? as it was already chipped when i bought it. cheers

they can sometimes read over. what year vts do you have? as the superchips dont raise the rpm on 3 plugs.

its 2000 mate, can get 70 out of 2nd gear thought that was quite quick

you got the right gearbox on?

you should only get about 62ish out a vts box

The rev limiter has been raised! So he can go faster in each gear.....
2000 will be a single plug, like mine :)

7500 can be confused for 7250 easily, unless he has a digital rev limiter he's not gonna know what the exact figure is

Sounds like its raised to me.
Its very minimal on the readout but is noticeable

not enough increase in revs to give such an increase in 2nd imho
vtr gearbox on it i bet

Probably has been raised. I can get 65 in second on a standard ECU and standard GTi gearbox and that was just before limiter kicked in.
TBH I have no idea why people get their Rev limiter raised without having proper power increasing Mods. If you take a non-cammed VTS/GTi RR graph, none of them read max power at 7250rpm. The power has started to die off just before 7000rpm.

because even though the power is tailing off you can still be making more power then if you shifted and lost a few hundred rpm, i agree its silly for the road but in racing terms thats why its done

to get 70 in second on a vts with vts' box you'd need to rev to 8250, whereas with a vtr 'box fitted you only need to rev to 7320rmp to hit bang on 70 so you may have a vtr gearbox on if you're hitting 70 in second.

agree that peak hp is the key to acceleration, ever
PK with one VTS, I'm leading 5 bodies at gear4 @
7xxxrpm, then too nervous to keep gear4 till 8xxxrpm
, the VTS already close to only 2 bodies!!
so shift the gear at the right point was importance.
later not equal better.

the speedo reads wrong aswell so its not an accurate test. If your ecu doesnt have any markings on it indicated its been chipped ide say it probably isnt..

its got a janspeed 421 manifold, pipercross viper induction kit, de cat strait through scorpion system and suppose to be super chipped. it may be a different gear box then but it really does shift i didn't realise they were that quick. when you hit rev limit in 2nd then shift into 3rd it really moves

also got a full quick shift setup on it aswel

Nah sounds like the standard vts box.
70 in 2nd isnt that odd if the limiter has been raised, and saxo's speedo's are quite optimistic anyway.
130mph on the clock in a VTR :P

going have a look at ecu later see if the screws have been painted red, usually are if they've been chipped
