Im thinking of keeping my saxo mk2 vts as im putting it back on the road at the moment,And i will be selling my 306Gti-6 so then i will have about £1500 to spend on making my saxo quicker. It is total standard engine wise now as i sold my old manifold, exhaust and de-cat pipe. All i want is some ideas to what to buy with the money.

Im Thinking of buying.

Manifold
Exhaust
De-cat pipe
Air filter.
Then catcams 708s and a re-map.

But what im think is if i wanted a throttle body set up in the future i might aswell get any head work done when i get the cams fitted and anything else which will need doing?

What would you get done if you were fitting cams and wanted a throttle body set up in the future?and also what manifold and exhaust system would you go for as i have heard that some will still restrict the engine if you are running higher bhp.eg over 150bhp.

Thanks for any advise in advance.:y:

From what people seem to say on here to benefit from throttle bodies you need wilder cams than 708's so I would make the decision first and do it in one hit. Or just get the car running really well on the 708's on standard intake

I have just got a new tele.;)
I just want to enjoy my car again and do a few track days.So i dont mind spending the money on it tbh.

I didnt think about that.:P
Could i not just run a wilder cam on a standard intake untill i save up for a tb set up?

you could do but youd need pistons and springs etc to run them

Oh,I think what i will do is just buy good breathing mods which will work well with a tb set up.Then once i have got that sorted then i will see if its going to be worth spending my money on just camming it or if i can afford going for a tb set up.

How much would it cost me to get a tb set up fitted inculding the price of cams, head work and everthing else i would need for a tb set up?

Thanks for the replys.

its defo worth camming it. will it be worth adding bodies though. to do it properly your looking at a 4k engine with headwork pistons etc

better suspension, brakes and tyres you want before this

I didnt think it would add upto that much.Wow I was thinking it would cost around two,two and half grand for a good set up.

Edit;If thats the case i will just cam it tbh.

Thanks for the advise.

it will be fine lol, sell the saxo and 306, and there are turbo'd vts's on here sometimes, it will save time and money.

from my experience on the track, i had a 150bhp vts engined xsi and it was quick on the straights, but without handling and brakking upgrades it was useless! handling and late breaking it what helps get times down!
