View Full Version : BE Box Conversion. Anyone interested?!
Hi folks I was looking into what was needed to replace the MA box in my now VTS with a BE box. Saw what was involved and didnt really want to take on the job myself.
I am now talking to Dp engineering and they are considering making up a ready to fit kit. Probably only mounts and driveshafts but still that takes out most of the hassle.
If anyone else would be interested let me know so I can give them an extra bit of convincing

There are plenty of people already sorting out shafts. Some places do custom shafts, some mod stock shafts, some mod hubs and I think Martin was on about doing a job lot cheap so you may wish to give him a call first as he may have already done them.
oh really! Who is Martin then?

If things are cost effective then i can see this being pretty popular. Best speaking ot the folk who have done these conversions though to try and get an idea of the do's and don'ts!

sybez would be a good place to start
Like I say I only mentioned it to them. As I was looking for a ready made kit. And I think they are going to price it up. Always worth an ask, then make a decision. I guess they will work out the best solution to save on cost.

ive not had chance to finish mine as ive been sorting out customers cars
ill be sorting out the shaft tonight.
our kit will be for the saxo/S2 106 and will consist of top mount, lower mount, gear selector rods, clutch cable and both shafts.
this kit will be to fit the picasso BE4 box, a hydraulic clutch option will be available if your not running a turbo (were working on a way of running hyd with a turbo)
ax's and S1 106's can have a conversion but the battery tray needs cutting out and a whole new mount fabricating and thats not cheap
well there you go then. Any idea when this kit will be available and at what kind of cost?

hopefully soon
not sure on cost, there will be a choice of O/S drive shaft
im trying a cut down one to get the right length and once that is working it will be a custom made one but there about £300 each.
the cut down shaft is the only way we can put a garunte on the shaft
have a look in here to see what it involves

Sounds good to me I would rather pay for custom shafts, just for peace of mind. Well as soon as you have got it sorted and are ready for orders sign me up.

im interested in the future, ive been hinting to sandy about developing a kit.
im sure if dp did a kit it would be of very good quality and attract more people. there are more and more charged cars being built now and also the BE box range has a cracking set of ratios between the range's.
