4-1 manifold question? it not been asked

i have cammed vtr 285 pipers pushing 122bhp. i heard 285 give more top end power which i noticed because the power really kicks in above 4'500rpm so would a 4-1 be better? also they are cheaper than 4-2-1 mani's.

I would say a little bit more expensive as a tad harder to get hold off but not much difference in price.
I fitted the piper 4-1 manifold as no oil filter modifications are needed as with some manifolds when fitting to a mk2.
did you get that bhp figure on a rolling road or just an educated guess and with just the cams coz I was thinking of fitting some soon and thats quite an impressive figure or have you got other mods.

Supposidly a 4-2-1 is better for mid range and 4-1 is better for higher rpm range. So in theory yea, a 4-1 would suit you better

Need to have a decent induction and straight-through system to go with if you havnt already dude.

Power all the way through the range with a 4-2-1 and cams in theory but VTR's suffer top-end compared to VTS' so 4-1 may be better.

it is a rolling road figure i only have and open air filter and ashley system. i was gonna go supersprint 4-2-1 but £250 is steep i was looking more in the £150 pound range but i don't move oil filters and stuff.

GMC stainless 4-1 heat wrapped is your best bet. Not cheap but by far the best quality i ever had

it really will not matter that much on a road tune engine

serously you will noticed no difference between manis. espicially on a road car
