theres a few you can go for either supersprint piper magnex or ashley are about the best
depends piper and ashley are pretty loud
magnex make a nice note
supersprint rasp
or you can mix and match them (i run a supersprint center an a piper backbox)
youll probably gain about 4 tbh
with a mani ect and induction your looking at 10ish

kk thanks i'll probably go for the better note any paticular dealer to buy from (demontweeks) or the company themselves?

scorpion are the best value for money, i noticed a bit more low end power, and it sounds nice and deep without being too 'chavy!'.
but in order to get the most out of an exhaust upgrade you need a manifold and decat.
but i would always recommend scorpion to anyone.

increasing power is all about first looking for bottlenecks and getting rid of them..
your first.. the manifold
JCs_VTR
5th July 2008, 13:26
where are the bottlenecks in the engine and hwo do u rid them?

The manifold on the VTR is quite restrictive.. I presume to make a bigger difference between that and the VTS.
The get rid of that restriction get an aftermarket manifold
With cams you can only fit mild cams before the inlet manifold starts to hold you back is another example of a restriction.
can get around that too by robbing parts off the rallye

so a 4-2-1 manifold would be good but I want the maximum power gain possible so a 4-1 is better am I right or should i get the 4-2-1
KamRacing

you can use the discount.
4-1 won't nessesarily give you better gains that the 4-2-1. Raceland gives good gains everywhere!

Thats allright cos the 4-2-1 is alot cheaper aswell thanks for the help

I would go with a raceland mainfold and magnex exhaust system and a good air filter like a bmc or the raceland one with the green filter. Then you can think about cams after you have got breathing mobs done.

Yea i like the sound of that setup how much power gain would i be looking at if I had all of those 20%+ or less ie +20bhp or more like 10-15bhp
thanks for the much need advice :y:

JC and Elliot - can you please NOT use text talk on the forum. It makes it hard for people to read, especially the forgien members.
manifold wise, the raceland manifold has been seen to give good gains for the money but if you have a mk2 block then you will need to relocate the oil filter (have a look at the guide in the Performance sticky at the top of the Performance section). if you dont want to relocate the oil filter then your looking at getting a Supersprint and GMC manifold really but thy are roughly about £100 more than the raceland one
