is there a turbo for 1.4 engine?
my bro is asking for 1 to fit on his xsara smileys/smiley2.gif

he bought a new one, lowered it around 50 mm's, put full exhaust system, air filter and chipset (or whatever it's called), and they said they measured it on 95 BHP (from 75), and now wants something more, more power, so i suggested him to put a turbocharger.

is there a turbo for 1.4's and how much does it cost?

the thing is this will cost him around 500 quid, and xsara vts will cost him much much more, i would say around 4000€, or 3000 quid

i see that in cituning, saxo engine conversions cost around 2500£, in any way, lots of £££, but there is no turbo for xsara.

can we fit 1 from saxo?

There is a petrol turbo version of the Xantia. Very rare though.
Not to sure if they are the same series engine as the Xsara though ?

A turbo from alot of standard turbo vehicles can be modifed to fit onto a modified downpipe, with sufficient piping. Intercooler (dependant on size of turbo)...Fifth injector (if required) uprated fuel mapping, oil cooler etc

Basically a DIY turbo conversion. One person in particular the springs to mind when talking about DIY turbo conversions is a chap who goes by the name of 'Burtay' on here.
Turkish fella, who knows his stuff when it comes to DIY.

Other than that , get in contact with GMC motorsport (http://www.gmcmotorsport.co.uk) as they made a rather high powered supercharged 1.4 smileys/smiley14.gif

turbonator?? LOL, bullshit mate, avoid at all costs.
as for turboing a 1.4 engine, carworx (http://www.carworx.gbr.cc/3020/info.php?p=2&pno=0) did a 1.4 engine, and saw 140bhp for around £2800, depending on the spec.

well if you just plonk a turbo on it you'd best get your camcorder out cos it wont last long! why make a small engine fast when for the same money and power you can just drop a bigger engine in, if you turbo an engine you have to lower the compression and strengthen the head and other crap.
my advise:
vts engine conversion, steel head gasket, NOS. smileys/smiley17.gif

it's not exactly for same money. i wrote before: "the thing is this will cost him around 500 quid, and xsara vts will cost him much much more, i would say around 4000€, or 3000 quid"
only turbo costs 500.

continue with the talk. you said lower the compression and strengthen the head, and what other crap? i'm interested

turbo would cost more than 500 mate. you'd need a custom manifold for the turbo, oil return to the sump for the turbo, ecu remap/ piggyback ecu, fifth injector/controller. you can get away with keeping the standard compression, but you'd be limited to running about 7-8 psi.

no, you didnt get me. we went to this guy that makes turbo chargers, and he said that one for 1.4 engine would cost around 500£, plus goes everything you said

it's a lot of work anyway, and if he decides to go for it, i'll take some pics and post them

thanx for the help, guys

A friend of mine a year ago put turbo on his 206 1.4 8V
now he is changing engine because the car never work well ,the λ (air/fuel) was very poor so the engine broke.
And that happend because he didn't made it to find a decent ECU for his car.
He paied 3000euro and the turbine was from punto.
