I have just brought a N-reg 1.5 deisel 106 and i was wondering how much torque it has?
The reason i ask is because im looking at buying a small 14ft fishing boat and im wondering if the 106 would have enough pulling power to tow it alright out of the water?
Thanks for any help.

If it the same as a Saxo DIEsel
58 bhp @ 5000
70 lb ft @ 2250
700kg for a braked trailor (trailor & cargo)

However to pull a boat out of the water I'd want something a bit bigger and with 4wd!

Thanks for the info.I was thinking i might need somethink bigger, but the other day i watched a ford transit pull a boat out of the water without any problems and the boat was abit bigger than what im looking at.
Has the 106D got alot less torque than a vts?

Transit is a bit bigger and rwd! So pulling ability will be greater!
1.5D is the same engine in both cars!

New Trannys are front wheel drive, but yeah, a bit more power!

the saxo/106 diesel can barely pull itself let alone a bout out the water. Transits have alot of torque. proberly nearly 3x!

some of them are still rwd i think.
Transit will have waaay more torque than a 106 derv, you want something with some power and a bit of weight behind it. 1.9 HDI 306 would be a good choice.
