Can anyone give me any info on what sort of cam is available for the MK2 VTR engine; keeping the following in mind;
- I know about the piper 285 etc but im looking for something that;
a)is as wild as i can go on standard inlet for a good power gain
b)will gain a bit more/work well with throttle bodies
-I want the car to be a daily driver so idle will have to be acceptable etc.

I know a lot of people will say go for the vts engine, i have looked into this and have gathered the info i need so now im looking into the VTR engine so i end up with exactly what i want out of the car...
If i go ahead with this, il be using the following mods along with it;

-Magnex Full sytem exhaust or piper
-Piper 4-1 manifold
-Bigger injectors
-Standalone
-All necessary parts for the head to go with the cam
-Either BMC or K&N Gen 2 till i decide which tb's to go for...

Thanks for any help

The only thing you have to think about with going for a wilder profile cam is will the power be useable, especially when coupled with a 4-1. I wouldnt recommend it for a daily driver and also with a wilder cam than the 285 you will need to look at stronger springs etc.
