Just got a raceland mani and dont no whether to heat wrap it or not. i like the look or a shiny mani as apposed to one covered in heat wrap and also my mate had a ashley mani wraped his and it ended up melting a hole in it!
are the performace gains that noticable when heat wraped?

Ive got mine heat wrapped, cause its Stainless, it shouldnt crack.

Pros to heatwrapping are that it keeps underbonnet temps down, so lower inlet temps, and supposedly, cause the exhaust gasses flow better when they're warm, it keeps them flowing better, cause less heat can escape. :)

isnt the ashley system mild steel, so it probaly rusted.

i wudnt like to say theres any gains from doin it, i dont think its to cheap and as i found the heat wrap doesnt like pressure washers :)

he only had the mani for about 3 months. so if i can find away to keep air cool as fook going into the inlet there wont realy be much diff?
has anyone put there mani on tested it then heat wraped it to see the diff?

Haha, just realised who you are Dave, and I know who you mean with the Ashley manifold. If I see you about some time, i'll show you mine, its a mess, but it keeps it cooler under the bonnet.

what kind of benifits do you get from the heat wrap is it just to keep the engine bay temps down there for good for use with an induction kit as ive never used this before and dont no to much about it
