quite confused here
had my vts (cammed remapped and breathed up)
and it never really idled properly

got it running tonight so i can get the engine ready to pull out (making sure it deffo ran first)
it has no exhaust on and the lamda is not connected (ie its just not there)

it idled perfectly (allthough loudly and if revved it did die off but hasnt been turned over for 2 months)
is this because of ther lack of lamda of the lack of exhaust?

twin lamda engine?

the second one just reads the clean air does it not.

maybe the lack of exhaust free'd the engine up slightly and made it run happier.

just an educated guess really.

The lambda in your exhaust manifold is required. The 2nd lambda is only there to read how well the cat is doing, it won't effect performance in any way whatsoever.
