I have searched a few times and have only found limited information on what im looking for.
Im looking to buy a full system exhaust for my 2001 VTR which will most likely be with a Piper/GMC 4-1 manifold. There are a few things i want from the exhaust which are;
-Good quality fit from the centre pipe all the way to the backbox.
-Sit nicely in the cut out in the bumper as iv seen a lot of exhausts that just dont sit right.
-Bassy yet not too raspy tone that is loud when accelerating but quiet when crusing or gently going up the revs. I like the magnex but may want a bit louder.
-Best for performance taking into consideration that the car will be camd, stage 3 head and individual throttle bodies etc.
-Long lasting preferably stainless steel but lightweight.

Options are;
Magnex- however i have heard from many people that they are restrictive and in many cases have slowed a tuned car down. Also are quite heavy.I do like the tone though.

Piper- only thing that is putting me off is that it may be too loud when just crusing. Sits nice from what iv seen, are they good for performance? Will also go well with the 4-1 manifold.

Supersprint- not so sure on the tail pipe...may be good for performance, better than others, i am a bit put off by the fact that its not stainless and fit...

Other options are, Scorpion, Milltek...any info on each of the exhausts which would be suited to what i want will be appreciated...bearing in mind that i want the best for performance...
Thanks

Its each to their own tbh. I have previously gone with a 4-1 piper mani, with straight through supersprint, on to a piper back box on my vtr. My vts however im going for the same except a 4-2-1 supersprint mani. Each have their pros and cons. All down to you. And im not too sure what the score with magnex is as they are going under. Im guessing your wanting de-cat as well?

yea i heard magnex have gone bust.
the cat is in the standard manifold so once with the piper 4-1 it will be decatted...
iv chosen the 4-1 as with the car having throttle bodies, it will be very revy and have the power at the top end.

I say it every time but fuck it. BTB exhaust are expensive but the very best for quality, noise, performance and fitment.

Buy Heckys, add your manifold, spend a couple of mins bending the hanger just right to suit your look and you will have a shit hot exhaust

I wouldn't mind a BTB but as im a perfectionist i dont want to buy an exhaust second hand and they arnt made anymore, also i cant help thinking the 2.5 inch bore is a bit too big as iv seen a tb'd vts with only a 2.25 inch bore
